My favorite quote about parenting and children....they ALL matter!
It's not only children who grow. Parents do too. As much as we watch to see what our children do with their lives, they are watching us to see what we do with ours. I can't tell my children to reach for the sun. All I can do is reach for it, myself. ~Joyce Maynard

I like this quote. I may use this in my trainings. I often tell the teachers that I educate that empathy is something you can not teach. Do not force a child to say they are sorry, this is not empathy it is a forced reaction. Children then think that if they wrong someone and apologize that everything will be fine.
ReplyDeleteYes, Amy. I have seen so many parents "get better" when they see their children getting educated..funny how they are motivated by their children. It somehow clicks when they see that their children can learn things the parents never dreamed they could. The parents begin to realize what an impact they have on their children....this is a cycle I love and live to see~ This quote says so much....I am a mom myself and I can only teach and model what is right and good and continue to reach for the sun :) Thanks for sharing!
